# Peer-to-peer transfer of Vault item ownership

If you want to transfer a card to someone for a sale or agreement that took place outside the Collect Marketplace, the process is simple but requires cooperation from both the current owner and the new recipient. 

No fulfillment request is needed for an ownership transfer. 

For these types of transactions, payment is handled directly between the two parties.

## Steps for current owner

1.  Log in to your **Fanatics Collect Member Dashboard**
2.  Click your **initials** in the upper-right corner
3.  Go to **My Collection (Vault)**
4.  Find the item you’re sending
5.  Check the box next to the card
6.  Click **Actions**, then select **Transfer Item**
7.  Paste the recipient’s **Identity Key** into the provided field
8.  Click **Confirm Transfer**

## Steps for recipient

1.  Log in to your **Fanatics Collect Member Dashboard**
2.  Click your **initials** in the upper-right corner
3.  Select **Preferences**
4.  Scroll down to locate your **Fanatics Collect Identity**
5.  Click **Copy** to copy your unique Identity Key
6.  Share the key with Client A (text or email works best)
7.  Enjoy your new card!

**Note for recipient:** Only share your key with the person sending your item(s). For the safety and security of your items, don’t share it with anyone else.
